{Storage Box Roller Casters Added}

One great advantage of following other bloggers is to pick up some great ideas once in a while. Blogger friend Daniela from the blog: Frugal Ain't Cheap, is such an example. You will find two links below this post from where I got this idea for adding Roller Casters to our Storage Box in the garage. Thanks Daniela!
We used to keep this on our balcony to store the chaise's cushions.
With our remodeled attic we now can keep them there, nearby the balcony, for use.
It is a Suncast Resin Deluxe Deck Box with Seat from Wayfair.com and now it is in our garage as a favorite lounge area for our felines.
You see the Roller Casters underneath...
Pieter glued some planks underneath with the casters attached.
Detail of such a Roller Caster that we got at The Home Depot, together with those planks and they are cheap.
Photo taken from the spot where usually our car is parked. This is the corner where it is stored and easily rolls out of the way with items piled on top.
You like it?

{Our Rose Suite Work Shop & Mariette's Back to Basics Shipping Center}

Today I will show you the final room of our Rose Suite; husband Pieter's Work Shop. A handyman like him, needs such a place! It is also my shipping center for any sales from my Zen Cart powered on line boutique Mariette's Back to Basics. So have a look with me and then we're done with the entire tour of Our Rose Suite. Previous posts you will find below.
  • Yes, it is written on the door...

At first, husband Pieter left this floor just as it was; concrete without tiles.
Finally after one-and-a-half year he did go ahead and put in the very same Spanish Volcano beige tiles as for the entire Rose Suite's flooring.
  • Easy to clean now and it is a very neat room!
  • My Dad, together with Pieter did lay these tiles! That was in October of 2005, when we'd given Mom & Dad airline tickets to come to the USA with us. It was the last time that they visited us, since Mom is on dialysis we can no longer invite them over as she is not able to
  •  travel.
  • Boxes are also being stored here for world wide shipping of any sales from my Zen Cart powered on line boutique: Mariette's Back to Basics
  • This is also my shipping center and husband Pieter does take care of that part.
  • All my loyal customers worldwide now know where it is being packed for shipping.
  • Yes, here too we do have the same TRINITY EcoStorage™ NSF 6-Tier Wire Shelving Racks on wheels from Costco, as in our Pantry (see link below). They are super and make the room very light as they are not solid.
Also for the time being I keep my photo albums here till I get them all digitalized.
Scanning the slides and than checking off the photos... Quite a task but one day it will be done!
Do you have a work shop in your home? Or is it outside of the home in a separate building?

{Our Rose Suite Pantry & TRINITY EcoStorage™ NSF 6-Tier Wire Shelving Racks}

There are still rooms to be viewed from our Rose Suite. This time I take you to our Pantry & TRINITY EcoStorage™ NSF 6-Tier Wire Shelving Racks (click it). That is such a great find from Costco about two and a half year ago when they had them on sale for $ 89.00 each and that for 6 shelves and on wheels! It makes cleaning my pantry a snap and also the reach is never a problem as you can roll them away from the wall or whatever. Great investment and the open Eco Storage chrome shelving lets the light shine through in the room also. Solid shelving would block the light.
From the hallway you enter here. The same Spanish tiles as we have in our entire Rose Suite.
We keep our old refrigerator and freezer combi in here as well.
Cool boxes are stored on top of the shelves.
The entire room is air conditioned.
Very easy to stash away our groceries and it is also easy to have an over view.
Looking now back into the hallway...
This white shelf has no wheels but it is convenient to keep it.
Lots of luggage we store here as well.
We did replace the old suitcases with those light weight spinners on wheels.
Some down duvets and sleeping bags are being stored here as well.
On the shelf to the right I even keep my napkins and other table linens.
The laundry room is next door, so that is convenient.
To the wall there are shelves too and if I need to reach something there, I just ride my  EcoStorage™ off the wall and reach for the item I need.
One of our friends was in the cabinet business and we did buy enough to cover this wall.
Those cabinets too can be reached by pulling the shelves on wheels away.
So what is your opinion about Our Rose Suite Pantry?
Do you also have a pantry yourself for storage?
Do you like this Eco Storage system?
Loved to hear some thoughts!

{TIP For Kitchen Improvement}

Today I want to share with you a practical TIP For Kitchen Improvement. Above our Miele US oven we have still a rather deep cabinet, which was very hard to reach from the floor. Husband Pieter did add a 20" X 21" ROLL OUT DRAWER IN CHROME from Wayfair. Link you find below post. This works like a charm!
Above our Miele oven is this deep cabinet. It has another wooden shelf up high towards the back.
Now I just roll out this chrome drawer and can get to all the items I need.
Mainly oven proof French Pillivuyt items are nested in here...
Four sets are stacked in there; two deep and two wide and they still fit under the top shelf.
Lids can be stashed on the side.
There is even one Pillivuyt platter that fits underneath! It is an 8"x 8" serving platter.
Are you working with Roll Out Drawers in your Kitchen as well?

{Naughty Feline}

Our youngest feline girl, Spicy III, is a naughty one. It took us a while before figuring out that she was very active at night, unloading the shelves of our built-in closets. I already pondered about the fact why suddenly a pile of sweaters was on the floor... Did someone leave the bi-fold doors open? Pieter and I always closed them. So one night, I woke up because I did hear a noise... When I went after the noise, I found this little 'Devilette' on her side, poking with one paw under the bi-fold door until it would actually fold up and she could get in and start her night shift job! WOW... what to do now?! Below you will see the solution as to what we came up with in order to prevent her from repeating her plan again. That is, we did alter five bi-fold doors of all closets, so she no longer can get in. I still woke up hearing her trying to jam the doors open but her muscle power could no longer do it...
She looks like an angel but she is a real 'Devilette'...
This used to be her night time job area...
She worked very hard at unloading those shelves...
Handyman Pieter did make this kind of lock on the inside but that worked only for half of the bi-fold. There was no way to get into the closet for reaching the second one. So he put his thinking-cap on and came up with this...
Drilling holes into the bi-fold doors and adding a simple hook like this...
Problem solved!

{MY CLOSET LOOKS LIKE A NEAT STORE}

On July 21, I did install the first Shelf Dividers into my closet. We all seem to struggle with Wardrobe Solutions and for keeping a neat stacked shelf in our closets. After doing laundry, folding things and putting them back on the shelf - one stands there and looks at the jumbled mess after you have taken out certain items to wear...
Neat stacks just topple.
BUT I was lucky to find this great solution; at Solutions Catalog!
SHELF DIVIDERS in Chrome Finish
They slide onto the shelf and are just high enough for keeping a stack from toppling.
Neatly stacked by color, looking almost like a neat store; except my items have no price tag...!
 I only had ONE problem, I loved them that much that I had to order more!
These built in closets are quite the norm here in the USA; they open with two folding doors for easy access. Our doors are the Charleston style, just like we have the doors in our bedrooms, bathrooms and also the solid oak indoor window shutters from Historic Windows in Virginia. Too bad they are no longer available, so we're lucky for having them.
OF COURSE I WOULD AS A  CONSULTING SERVICE RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT TO A FRIEND!
GET YOURS TOO...
